Land Acknowledgement
Players would like to acknowledge that the land we gather on is the traditional territory of the Wendat, the Anishnaabeg, the Haudenosaunee, Metis, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
We are very grateful to tell our stories and celebrate being together on these lands for our shows.
We encourage you to learn more and engage with organizations that support Indigineous peoples such as the Downie Wenjack Foundation, one of the charities we are proud to support this year
2023 Charities
PODIUM encourages you to give generously to any or all of the four wonderful charities being supported by Players this year:
The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund is part of Gord Downie’s legacy and embodies his commitment, and that of his family, to improving the lives of First Peoples.
In collaboration with the Wenjack family, the goal of the fund is to continue the conversation that began with Chanie Wenjack’s residential school story, and to aid our collective reconciliation journey through a combination of awareness, education and action.
ALS Action Canada is Canada’s only patient-led non-profit organization building a movement to ensure urgent, equitable access to promising therapies for Canadians living with ALS; more and better clinical trials for ALS therapies throughout Canada; and increased federal and provincial investment in ALS research.
The goal is to #EndALS forever through advanced research, treatments, and trials that can detect ALS early and stop, reverse, or cure ALS.
The DBFB Programs and Services team works hard to provide the best support to meet the needs of their diverse membership and the communities they serve. Together, they provide dignified, low-barrier food access to adults, seniors and children experiencing food insecurity.
Daily Bread Food Bank’s network consists of 128 member agencies and 193 food programs.
The goal is to end hunger in our city.
Working together with health care and research professionals, patients, and the community, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation raises funds to support breakthrough research, patient care and education programs at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The Princess Margaret is a recognized international leader in the fight against cancer and none of this would be possible without the generous support, commitment and dedication of their donors and community.
The Players Charitable Mandate
Players is dedicated to raising funds for, and awareness of, the efforts of a variety of fantastic charities. Our season of shows is the means through which we make repeated important financial contributions to our charities, and our audience is our tool for spreading the awareness of the needs each of these organizations is addressing.

To date we have donated over $222,000 to wide variety of charities!

Director's Notes
What an absolute joy ride BRIDGERTOP GUN has been! It was only 7 weeks ago our new recruits came waltzing in and we took off at the speed of sound (sing!) to create what I hope will go down in history as the horniest show to ever grace a Players stage.
This incredible cast managed to take my breath away (sing!) every single day. From the second they auditioned to the first lines on opening night, I’ve watched them work tirelessly to transform into the unstoppable, hilarious, brilliant ICONS you get to witness on the stage tonight. It has been the most rewarding experience in my 8 years of being with Players. I am a literal heart-eyed emoji about each and every one of them.
It took the whole Ton to make this dream come to life: from our diamonds in the writers room, our costumes and props team who built us totally accurate planes and swaddled us in the finest frills, our fresh-faced stage management team keeping us on track and on time, our producing duo being logistical superstars, our MDs and their merry band of rockstars, the choreo queens who never missed a beat, and our tech captains who added those final flourishes that helped the show soar to new heights. I am eternally grateful for everyone’s contributions and could not be prouder of the silly little world that we’ve created for you!
Thank you so much for supporting Players. I hope you dance, #drink, and #sing your hearts out tonight. Blast-off!
